Autoadapt collaborates with SEAT Young Driver

The brand new, dual control SEAT Ibizas will be fitted with Carospeed floor mounted hand controls and the cars will be located at different venues around the UK.

Young Driver, a nationwide safety initiative, teaches 11 to 17 year olds to drive. Using government approved instructors, the lessons take place off the public roads, in a safe and controlled environment. The specialist centres offer a realistic driving environment, using traffic signs, junctions and parking zones.

The adapted cars with hand controls, will give wheelchair users a fantastic opportunity to enjoy exactly the same driving activities as other youngsters. The whole Young Driver experience is hugely entertaining, great fun but importantly, it’s also a real confidence booster.”

Young Driver has already given 35,000 lessons to young people, including those with disabilities such as autism, Asperger's Syndrome, profound deafness and visual impairment. The programme has been a massive hit amongst both youngsters and parents.
